A passport of the regional program for mono-towns development was approved in the Voronezh region
The government of the region held a meeting of the project management committee chaired by Alexander Gusev. Participants discussed a passport of the program «Development of mono-towns of the Voronezh Region».
The head of the region stressed the necessity to increase the employment and most importantly to attract additional investments for these territories, as well as to coordinate the efforts of all interested parties, federal and regional support measures.
It is planned to create 3133 new jobs by 2020 in 4 mono-towns of the region (Rossosh, Semiluki, Pavlovsk, Elan-Kolenovskiy urban settlement) not related to town-forming enterprises activities. In addition, it is also planed to attract about 18 billion rubles investment in fixed assets and the implementation in all monotowns for improvements. The program also envisages the creation of a territory for advanced development zone in the monotown of Pavlovsk.
The participants approved the passport of the program which is designed for the period from 2018 to 2020.
The Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Strategic Development and Priority Projects included the direction of «Monotown» among 11 main directions of strategic development. Monotowns are populated areas where the majority of residents are employed on a single, city-forming enterprise.
The key goal of the program is to reduce the dependence of single-industry towns from city-forming enterprises. It is planed to create in Russia 230,000 new workplaces not associated with such enterprises by the end of 2018. The implementation of investment projects, including participation of the Fund For Monotowns Development.
