Agriculture is one of the most promising areas of the regional economy
A meeting of the regional government on the results of agro-industrial complex development in 2018 and tasks for 2019 was held on April 10. The meeting was chaired by governor Alexander Gusev.
The Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Logvinov made a presentation. He said that AGC’s share in the sectoral structure of the gross regional product is amounted to 19,4%. Agrarians produced 3,9% of the country's agricultural output, the value of which exceeds 200 billion rubles (103,2% compared to 2017) in 2018. At the same time, decline was recorded for this indicator (99,4%) in Russia.
The Voronezh region has leading position in the Central Federal District in terms of main agricultural crops production.
The positive dynamics was also observed in animal husbandry (117% compared to 2017) in 2018. The priority for the region remains dairy and beef cattle.
The region occupies a leading position in the Central Federal District in terms of milk production in agricultural enterprises. The Voronezh region has moved from sixth position to fourth among all the subjects of the Russian Federation this year. The region ranks third and fourth in Russia on the pork and beef production in agricultural organizations.
During the report, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that pig breeding cluster development is currently being completed. AGROECO started the construction of a meat processing plant in Pavlovsk with a capacity of over 350 thousand tons of products per year. The cost this investment project implementation will amount to 13,5 billion rubles.
Viktor Logvinov highlighted a high investment level in the agro-industrial complex amounted to 42 billion rubles in 2018. This is 24% of the total investment in the Voronezh region. Today, the investment portfolio of the agro-industrial complex consists of 57 investment projects with a total funding of 124 billion rubles. Implementation period is up to 2021. Tax revenues from agricultural enterprises amounted to 12,7 billion rubles in 2018. The growth reached 9.3% in relation to 2017. Exports amounted to 540 million US dollars, which is 19,5% higher than the level of 2017. In 2019, the task was set to $650 million.
The governor noted that agriculture is one of the most promising areas of the regional economy. He presented award diplomas to municipal districts heads for achievements in the agro-industrial complex development.
