The Direct Air Traffic between Voronezh and Istanbul is opened

April, 4, 2017. The first “Turkish Airlines” flight Voronezh-Istanbul landed in the international airport “Voronezh”.

Within the official opening ceremony of the direct air traffic between Voronezh and Turkey a presentation of “Turkish Airlines” company and a press conference were held in the airport. 

The Deputy Governor of the Voronezh region, governor and government chief of staff Gennady Makin, “Aksioma” financial company promoter Sergey Zhuravlev, General Director “AVIASERVIS” management company Ltd Alexander Belevich, the Head of "Turkish Airlines" sale department Kerem Sarp, the Deputy Head of “Turkish Airlines” sale department Makhmut Jayla, the Director General of “Turkish Airlines” Russian representative office Mefail Deribash took part at the arrangements.     

While answering journalists questions Gennady Makin marked the «Turkish Airlines” income to our region opened wide prospects for cultural and economic cooperation between the Voronezh region and Turkey and expressed hope that the new flight direction would be popular among population of the Voronezh region and neighboring entities.

Kerem Sarp told that in the nearest future “Turkish Airlines” specialists were going to evaluate the passenger traffic level at the new flight direction and if it was necessary the company would consider the question of possible flights’ number increase.


“Turkish Airlines” company was founded in 1933. Since 2010 the company enters TOP-10 of the best world airlines rating. Actually the airline fleet includes 335 Boeings and Airbuses of two types: airliners and freighters. The average airplane age is not over then 6 years. “Turkish Airlines” route network covers more than 296 directions all over the world including 247 international and 49 domestic flights. The company’s aircrafts perform flights in 120 countries. In 2016 the company carried 62,8 million passengers. 

“Turkish Airlines” enters the greatest world aircraft group of companies “Star Alliance” that unites 28 airlines. After “Turkish Airlines” income Voronezh becomes a present region for 3 global groups of companies: StarAlliance, SkyTeam and Oneworld.

Since April, 4 regular flights Voronezh-Istanbul will be performed 3 times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The flight time will be about 2,5 hours.
