Presentation of Voronezh region was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation
On December 11 in Moscow, in the Congress Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, under the slogan “We understand business - we surprise with opportunities!” A presentation of the Voronezh region was held. The delegation of the region, led by Governor Alexander Gusev, presented the economic, industrial and tourism potential of the region, as well as major investment projects. The event was attended by Director of the Agency for Investment and Strategic Projects Danil Kustov.
The guests of the presentation were representatives of federal ministries, state authorities of Moscow and Moscow Region, chambers of commerce and industry, foreign embassies, business structures, and potential investors. In his opening remarks, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin noted the favorable investment climate in the Voronezh region:
- The region is developing dynamically; this is confirmed by figures in industry and agriculture sectors. We saw how partners, including foreign ones, implement projects in the industrial park and in the special economic zone. But, nevertheless, there are a large number of projects that are currently in work, and there is still room for investment. Voronezh region is the region where you need to come.
Further, the Governor Alexander Gusev made a presentation of the region. He drew attention to the growth rate of the regional economy - they make up 3-4 percent per year and the gross regional product, which reached a trillion rubles. Over the past five years, 1.4 trillion rubles have been invested in the economy of the region. Alexander Gusev noted the high potential of the regional industry in the field of high-tech products, the specific gravity of production of which is already approaching 50 percent.
“More than 80 percent of the territory of the Voronezh region is black soil” the governor continued, speaking about the region’s agriculture. - We actively develop milk and meat clusters. The volume of milk production in 2018 increased by 7.4%, meat production - by 20%. Positive dynamics continues in 2019. The created raw material base allows us to start the implementation of projects related to the deep processing of raw materials. A distinctive feature of agriculture in the Voronezh region is the introduction of organic farming.
The governor noted that one of the attractive features of the region is the provision of highly qualified personnel. Speaking about the structure of human resources, Alexander Gusev emphasized that the Voronezh region is provided with labor resources both in quantitative and qualitative terms. More than 30 thousand graduates graduate annually from the region’s universities.
Further, the governor spoke about measures to support investors at the region level. The formed effective system includes a whole range of regional development institutions, which allow for the comprehensive implementation of measures of legal and financial support for investors. This is the provision of land and infrastructure at no cost, and tax, customs benefits, and staffing. Five industrial parks with a total area over 1,400 hectares have been created and are functioning in the region, more than 100 manufactures are located on their territory, 5,215 high-performance jobs have been created.
Alexander Gusev spoke in detail about the territory of advanced social and economic development (TOSED) created on the territory of the single-industry city of Pavlovsk. Special attention was paid to the special economic zone of the Center industrial type in the Novousmansky district. On an area of 220 hectares it is planned to place up to 20 high-tech industries. After the launch pad development, it is planned to create a branch network in the areas of the Voronezh region. Residents of the SEZ PPT Center receive a wide range of tax preferences at different levels.
Separately, the head of the region drew attention to the development of the IT sphere and small business in the Voronezh region, talking about existing and developing support measures. In conclusion, Alexander Gusev emphasized the region’s interest in long-term cooperation with business and invited potential investors to work together in the Voronezh region.
As part of the presentation of the Voronezh region, the main branches of the economy of the Voronezh region also spoke about the main sectors of the region’s economy. Successful experience in investing in the Voronezh region was also shared by representatives of enterprises operating in the region.
The plenary part of the event ended with communication with representatives of the media. Journalists, in particular, asked the governor of the Voronezh region questions about priority sectors for investment, prospects for the development of the Center for Special Economic Zone, terms of investment potential and branding of the region.
